They did something to my vehicle and are accusing me. I provided all documents that was requested of me and yet they deny to fix the problem. They are requesting ***** dollars from me to fix an engine that I just serviced with them and then suddenly the car breaks down. It took *** a week to let me know about the second refusal from the warranty and that was me reaching out to them to try to get information on what happened with the warranty. And I have provided the oil change documentation. All other services on the car has been with *** which they have record of. ![]() All they stated to me was lack of maintenance on the vehicle even though documentation was provided. ![]() When I asked for guidance or guidelines as to why the decline, *** again refused to disclose. When I asked why the decline again when I submitted what was required of me, *** stated that it was internal information and could not disclose that information to me. I submitted that proof of documentation of the oil change and the warranty again denied to fix the engine. I have proof of receipt showing that I had done an oil change on. I in fact did an oil change but not with ***. The reason stating that I did not do an oil change in the year 2022. The warranty responds back and denies to fix the engine. After 2 to 3 days approximately they contacted me telling me that the engine blew out and that I would need a new engine. The car was then towed to *** of Edison in **. When I finished my shift and went to start the car, the car would not start at all. When I reached my destination, I parked my car and went into my shift. Then on my car broke down, my dashboard stated drivetrain malfunction however stated to continue driving. On May 8 2023, I went into *** of Edison in ** to do a service of an oil change and filter changes on the vehicle. Newark, Open Road Auto Group, which operates 15 locations around New Jersey, agreed to a $300,000 settlement to resolve Division of Consumer Affairs investigation into allegations that included failing to disclose prior accident history, using deceptive advertising and failing to honor vehicle warranties. The company voluntarily cooperated with the investigation and have agreed to enter into this Assurance of Voluntary Compliance without having admitted any fact or violations of law.
